No, and not on every plan. Jira Service Management puts change management on Premium [Atlassian pricing]. Freshservice includes problem, change and release management on Pro and Enterprise, not on Starter or Growth [Freshservice pricing]. ServiceDesk Plus sells change and release management as a $1,195 a year add-on on Standard and includes it in Enterprise [ManageEngine pricing]. Zendesk does not list change management on its Employee Service pricing page [Zendesk Employee Service pricing], and monday service does not document it on the pages we reviewed [monday service pricing]. SysAid lists it on both plans and Halo in its single price [SysAid pricing] [Halo pricing]. Our plan gates lesson has the full table.
It shows you part of it. The Jira Service Management Free plan covers three agents and includes a customer portal, email and chat channels, forms, queues, a knowledge base, alerts and on-call schedules [Atlassian pricing], but change management and the virtual service agent are Premium features. The ServiceDesk Plus free edition covers two technicians and 250 IT assets on the Standard edition [ManageEngine pricing]. Test the plan you expect to buy; our trial plan explains how.
Rarely, on the evidence of vendor pages. Closure is the least documented of the six stages in our Lifecycle Automation Census: only Halo documents it, by reading a requester's thank-you reply as resolution [Halo AI]. Other vendors document automated logging, routing and resolution, and leave closure to agents or to rules an admin writes. If automatic closure matters to you, test it: reply 'thanks, that fixed it' to a resolved ticket and see what happens.
No. Freshworks says 'AI agents instantly handle up to 80% of routine queries' in a general service context [Freddy AI]. SysAid says its AI can 'automatically resolve more than 60% of incidents before they ever become tickets' [SysAid home page]. One figure counts routine queries, the other incidents before a ticket exists, and both are vendor claims we have not verified. Neither tells you what share of your tickets will be handled correctly.
Usually, but check for portal caps. ManageEngine states no limit on the number of end users [ManageEngine pricing]. monday service includes portal access for up to 10 users on Standard, 100 on Pro and unlimited users on Enterprise [monday service pricing], so the number of employees who raise tickets can decide the plan. Count requesters as well as agents.
No. Halo's pricing page text shows a UK list price, £66 per agent per month billed annually, with a currency selector for other regions [Halo pricing]. ManageEngine prices per technician and shows 'from' prices [ManageEngine pricing]. monday service prices per seat with a three-seat minimum [monday service pricing]. Halo also offers an Enterprise Package at a fixed $1M a year for unlimited licences and funded implementation [Halo pricing]. Put every quote on the same unit and billing basis before you compare; the calculator does this for list prices.
Not for every team. ServiceNow ITSM scores 10 on ITIL coverage and 10 on configuration management, the highest in our set [ServiceNow ITSM page] [ServiceNow CMDB page], but ranks 5 overall at 7.2 on the full ITSM ranking, because it scores 4 on time to value and 2 on pricing transparency [G2 ServiceNow reviews] [G2 compare page]. Feature depth matters most when you will use it; for many mid-size desks, time to value and a price you can model carry more weight. The calculator lets you set your own weights.
Turn each myth into a question for the vendor, and ask for the page that answers it. Our buyer's checklist has 30 questions grouped by the seven criteria we score, and the total cost guide shows how plan gates and add-ons change a 20-agent budget.
